Procedure documentation Using Sign Reversal Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

  1. Activating sign reversal at InfoObject level.
  2. In the InfoObject maintenance, define whether sign reversal is possible for the InfoObject (see Tab Page: Hierarchy). When sign reversal is activated for hierarchies, the attribute 0SIGNCH is included in the communication structure for hierarchy nodes.

Whether you are loading the hierarchy or creating in the system, note the next 2 points.

  3. (De-)activate sign reversal in hierarchy maintenance by node
  4. In the hierarchy maintenance, you can use Change Node(s) to (de-)activate sign reversal for a node. If it is activated for a node, this does not mean it is also transferred for the subnodes.

  5. Loading a hierarchy flexibly
  6. You need to load the hierarchy by using a PSA to load hierarchy attributes such as sign reversal.

Refer to Special Features when Loading using the PSA.

  7. BEx Query Designer: Creating formula variables

You have supplied your InfoProvider with data. To make sign reversal visible in the query, you need to carry out the following steps in the query definition:

  1. You are in the Query Designer. Under Key Figures, use the context menu to choose New Formula. The Formula Builder opens.
  2. Under Formula Variable, use the context menu to choose New Variable. The Variables Wizard opens.
  3. Give the variable a name and a short text. Choose Replacement Path as the processing type.
  4. Select your hierarchy basis characteristic.
  5. Choose Hierarchy Attribute as the replacement. The attribute Reverse +/- Signs is automatically displayed.
  6. Save your formula variable. When defining the formula variable, you get the factor 1 or –1, with which you can multiply the required key figure.

Additional information about variables can be found from Structure linkDefining Variables with the Variable Wizard.

Result

After defining your query completely and executing it, nodes in the query for which sign reversal has been activated, are displayed with a reversed sign.
