Use

If you want to create a hierarchy, or upload an existing hierarchy from a source system, you have to set the with hierarchy indicator. The system generates a hierarchy table with hierarchical relationships for the characteristic.

You are able to determine the following properties for the hierarchy:

Whether or not you want to create hierarchy versions for a hierarchy.

Whether you want the entire hierarchy or just the hierarchy structure to be time-dependent.

Whether you want to allow the use of hierarchy intervals.

Whether you want to activate the sign reversal function for nodes.

which characteristics are permitted in the hierarchy nodes: If you want to load your hierarchy by using the PSA, you must select InfoObjects for the hierarchy basis characteristic that are to be uploaded as well. All characteristics selected here are included in the communication structure for hierarchy nodes, together with the characteristics compounded to them. For hierarchies that are loaded by using IDoc, we recommend you also select the permitted InfoObjects, since this makes the hierarchy more transparent because in this case, only the valid characteristics can be selected.

If you do not select an InfoObject here, only text nodes are allowed to be internal nodes in hierarchies.
