Procedure

Select the InfoObject you want to maintain, and, using the context menu, choose Change. Alternatively, select the InfoObject you want to maintain, and choose the Maintain InfoObjects icon from the menu toolbar. You get to the InfoObject maintenance.

Note

You are not able to delete any characteristics that are still being used in an InfoCube, an ODS object, an InfoSource, compounding, or as attributes. It is a good idea, therefore, to execute a where-used list, whenever you want to delete a characteristic. If the characteristic is being used, you have to first delete the InfoCube or the InfoObject from the InfoCube. If errors occur, or applications exist, an error log appears automatically.

Change Options

It is usually possible to change the meaning and the text of an InfoObject. However, only limited changes can be made to certain properties, in case the InfoObject is used in InfoCubes or ODS objects.

With key figures, for example, you cannot change the property type, the data type, or the aggregation, if the key figure is still being used in an InfoCube/ODS object. Use the Check function to get hints on incompatible changes.

With characteristics, you can change compounding and data type, but only if no data has yet been loaded.
