Use

You can delete master data and texts directly from the master data table in BW. Contrary to deleting at single record level you can use this function to delete all the existing master data and texts for a characteristic in one action.

Prerequisites

To be able to delete master data, no transaction data may exist in BW for the affected master data, it must not be used as an attribute for InfoObjects, and no hierarchies may exist for this master data.

Functions

You get to the function Delete master data via:

InfoObject Tree ® InfoObject ® Context Menu (right mouse button) ® Delete Master Data.

or

InfoSource Tree ® Application Component ® Master Data InfoSource ® Context Menu (right mouse button) ® Delete Master Data.

If you choose the function Delete master data, the program checks the entries in the affected master data table, one after the other. You can only delete master data that has no transaction data, that is not used as an InfoObject attribute and that has no hierarchies.
