Use

In the Translation function area in the Administrator Workbench, you can translate short and long texts for Business Information Warehouse objects.

The worklist automatically includes the following objects for object translation.

Procedure

  1. In the main menu of the SAP Business Information Warehouse, select BW Administration ->Administrator Workbench.
  2. Select the Transaction function area using the corresponding pushbutton in the left-hand navigation window or by Goto -> Translation

Recommendation

The procedure in steps 3 to 6 is largely the same as the procedure for implementing Business Content (steps 3 to 6). You can find further information under Installing Business Content.

  1. If you want to assign a source system, select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Source System Assignment. The Select Source System as Default dialog window appears.
  2. Change the required settings in the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Grouping selection list and the Collection Mode.
  3. Select the object type you want to translate in the Administrator Workbench navigation frame.

Example

All objects before or after the selected object in the data flow can be included in the translation via Grouping. Therefore, you can translate a structured source system scenario, including InfoSources, InfoCubes, queries and workbooks.

  1. Choose the object(s) you want to translate in the central screen area and add them to the right-hand Collected Objects screen area by Drag & Drop.

The system displays the selected object(s) and all dependent objects in the Collected Objects screen area.

Caution

Only activated objects are translated, that is, objects in the A version, as only these objects are transported. When you have changed the object texts, you must activate these objects before translation.

Choose the source and target language on the Languages tab page.

Choose your default settings on the Short Text Editor, Long Text Editor and Work List tab pages

You can restore the standard default values using Default Values.

  1. The Worklist: List screen appears. Open the Logical Objects hierarchy node. A list of all objects to be translated appears.
  2. The This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Translation Status function allows you to view the translation status of the individual objects. The status of individual objects is indicated with the following colors:

  1. The Logical Objects Translation screen appears.

Process the short and long texts. The system makes the Translation Assistant available depending on the processing status.

Save your translation.

Note

The system displays the number of translated, modified, and new texts next to the respective object in the worklist.
