Master Data Maintenance

Use

You can run master data maintenance in two different sessions:

Creating or Changing Master Data

Deleting Master Data at Single Record Level

Integration

You cannot run the two sessions at the same time, meaning that

if you choose Change in the master data maintenance, the deletion function is deactivated, and is only reactivated once you have saved your changes.

if you select a master data record in the master data maintenance and choose Delete, the create and change function is deactivated, and is only reactivated once you have finished the deletion process by choosing Save.

Functions

Creating or Changing Master Data:

You can add new data records for master data for a characteristic, change single data records for master data or else select several data records for master data and assign global changes to them.

Deleting Master Data at Single Record Level:

You can delete single records or else select and delete several records.

Note

You can only delete data records for master data if the master data you want to delete still has no transaction data, is not used as an InfoObject attribute and has no hierarchies.
