Roles are the largest semantic unit within role maintenance. They include folder hierarchies consisting of worksets, simple folders, pages and services. You also define the detailed and top-level navigation for your Enterprise Portal within roles.

You create roles by creating folder hierarchies and adding content objects. You can use the following objects in a role:

• Worksets
• External Services
• Pages
