The following objects are available for role maintenance:
Master iViews: Master iViews are individual Java components for the portal that you can add directly to a role.
External Services: External Services are individual activities or units of information that can be added to a role or workset, for example SAP transactions, Web URLs and BEx Web Applications. External Services are always based on a master iView.
Worksets: Worksets are generic, re-usable structures or modules that you can add to roles.
Roles: Roles are folder hierarchies consisting of folders, worksets, pages and services. The roles assigned to the user define the navigation structure and appearance of the Portal.
Folder hierarchies in roles and worksets: Sub-folders that are created in a role or workset and added to External Services and pages.
Pages: Pages are not PCD objects. They are created with a different tool and can be added to worksets and pages with the Role Editor.
