Copying Role Data 

Use

The Enterprise Portal offers you a function for distributing the roles defined in the Enterprise Portal to connected SAP systems.

Procedure

To copy a Portal role:

  1. Call up System Configuration ® SAP Authorizations from the administrator role in the Enterprise Portal.
  2. On the initial screen, choose the required JCO destination (Java Connector destination) in the dropdown menu.

    3. The Default logical systems for user assignment distribution list is displayed.

    In this list you can check which target systems the selected JCO destination performs role maintenance for (see Adjusting System Responsibilities).

  3. Under Choose options for role distribution activate the Distribute changed roles only checkbox. Only the roles that have just been created or changed are copied.

    4. This checkbox also affects the output the following option fields.

  4. Activate the Select Roles option field.

    5. The option fields have the following meanings:

    All Roles: Depending on the Distribute changed roles only checkbox, either all roles or all changed roles are copied.

    Select Roles: A screen is displayed in which you can select the roles to be copied. Depending on the Distribute changed roles only checkbox, either all roles or all changed roles are displayed on the screen.

    Role Name entry: A screen is displayed in which you can select the roles to be copied. Only the roles that correspond to the entry are displayed.

  5. Choose Start.

    6. The Select the Role(s) You Want to Distribute screen is displayed.

  6. Activate the checkboxes for the roles to be copied.

    7. You can use the Select All, Deselect All button to activate or deactivate all the checkboxes in the list.

  7. Choose Start.

This starts the distribution of the roles.

A screen appears in which you can display the log data for this distribution using a link. The data has only been completely copied when the log data contains the remark "Log Closed". You can refresh the log data with the Refresh button, even when the copy process is still running.

You can call up a link list for all stored log data with the Log Overview button.
