Prerequisites

You should have completed the following before starting this step:

You created a Java iView for detailed navigation or you are using the Java iView contained in the standard delivery.
You created at least one page and assigned the Java iView for detailed navigation to this page.

Procedure

To provide your users with a visible detailed navigation in the portal, you must now:

Assign a separate page with detailed navigation at least to all role folders that appear as an entry in the portal on the second level of top-level navigation. If you do not want to perform step 2 as well, make sure you assign an appropriate page to each folder on the second level. You can find out how to assign roles to pages in the Administration Guide under Roles® Role Maintenance ® Creating Roles and Assigning Contents ® Adding Content Objects to Roles.

Set up a default navigation page. It is not assigned to a role. You must set up such a page to make sure that your portal user will always have detailed navigation. This page will be used if a folder of a role does not contain its own page with detailed navigation. Read also Defining the Default Page for Detailed Navigation.
