Procedure

To provide your users with a visible detailed navigation in the portal, you must now:

  1. Assign a separate page with detailed navigation at least to all role folders that appear as an entry in the portal on the second level of top-level navigation. If you do not want to perform step 2 as well, make sure you assign an appropriate page to each folder on the second level. You can find out how to assign roles to pages in the Administration Guide under Roles® Role Maintenance ® Creating Roles and Assigning Contents ® Adding Content Objects to Roles.
  2. Set up a default navigation page. It is not assigned to a role. You must set up such a page to make sure that your portal user will always have detailed navigation. This page will be used if a folder of a role does not contain its own page with detailed navigation. Read also Defining the Default Page for Detailed Navigation.
