Hierarchies can be flexible, meaning they can be loaded with transfer rules via the PSA. This also allows you to upload hierarchy attributes (such as sign reversal).

The toolbox in the formula builder has been enhanced with many new functions, and is now called the transformation library. The user interface of the formula builder has been made easier to use.

The open hub service is a new service that allows you to distribute data from an SAP BW system into non-SAP data marts, analytical applications and other applications.

There are the following new features for the BW InfoProvider InfoSet:

  • A transformation program makes it easier for you to continue using Classic InfoSets that were created for release BW 2.0B.
  • In the join control, you define the join conditions. You can call up a special join control to process two InfoProviders of an InfoSet.

The MOLAP store documentation contains a section on what conditions BW InfoCubes must meet in order that they can be modeled in Microsoft Analysis Services.

In the Reporting Agent, changes have been made to the interface and there are some new and enhanced functions:

Enhanced functions:

  • Evaluating exceptions: enhanced follow-up action Alert Monitor Entry (Alert texts), new follow-up action Export( via a business add-in) and the RRS.

New functions:

  • Crystal reports: You can pre-calculate BEx queries (as "useful queries") for Crystal reports in the background.
  • Bookmarks: You can manage bookmarks created in the system by all BW system users.

As an alternative to scheduling as a job, you can also add your scheduling package into a process chain.

Additional functions are available in the document management administration, on the tab page Indexing for Searches, allowing you to check and change the status of the indexing and the indexing job.

As well as the functions on the tabpages, special functions are available from the symbol bar:

  • Edit valid file types

The documentation for the BEx Query Designer has been completely revised and enhanced. There are the following new features:

  • You are now able to create variables with a wizard in the Query Designer, and edit them with an editor.
  • Variables:

The display areas Several Single Values and Pre-calculated Value Sets have been added.

For formula variables, the replacement types:

    • Value of an attribute
    • Interval difference
    • Evaluate as Boolean

have been added.

  • A number of new functions are now available in the query properties and in properties of query components, such as selecting constants.

There are the following new features and changes in the Web Application Designer:

  • You can edit the HTML of a Web template in the Web Application Designer.
  • You can insert images into the layout of a Web template.
  • You can specify your own stylesheet for printing for a Web template.

There are the following new features and changes for analysis and reporting in Web applications.

  • In the context menu, available for certain Web items, various analysis and navigation functions are available in the Web application: For example, exporting to an Excel file and generating a bookmark.
  • You are now able to use a full text search in the Web items Single Document and List of Documents.
  • In the standard Web template, which you can use to display queries in the Web, various navigation functions are available via a symbol toolbar, supplemental to the context menu functions.
  • You can make changes to accessibility in Web applications for physically disabled users, such as the blind or visually impaired.

There are the following new features in the area of BEx Mobile Intelligence:

  • Automatic display optimization, which automatically adjusts the Web items to fit the size of the display.
  • Automatic device recognition has been enhanced for the DoCoMo iMode, Nokia Communicator 9210 and Palm devices.
  • Device-specific Web templates are now supported.

Personalization in Bex enables users to fill variables with user-specific entries, to save user-specific accesses to BW objects for the history view in the BEx Open dialog box, and to save user-specific start views for Web applications.

When defining archiving objects for data archiving, you can specify relative and absolute time restrictions.

The BW Statistics Queries (pre-defined queries and diagrams) are delivered with the technical Content. BI users can use BW statistics queries to evaluate and monitor Business Information services relevant to run-time using graphics. There is new documentation for queries and structures for BW Statistics MultiProviders and queries for the InfoCube BW Statistics- OLAP, Detail Navigation.
