Adding and Changing Master iViews in Roles 

Use

You can add a (configured) master iView directly to a role and then change it in the role, i.e. overwrite properties. A new object is created when you add a master iViews to a role: an External Service is created from the master iView.

In this case you should change the properties of the External Service (of the new object) and not those of the original master iViews.

Prerequisites

Move a role to the edit area.

Procedure

Adding a master iView to a role

  1. Call the catalog of the master iView in the view area.

    2. A list of all the available master iViews appears in the window.

  2. Select the relevant object in an object catalog in the view area and click on it.
  3. In the edit area, click on the position in the role where you want to add the object and choose Add.

The object is added to the role.

Changing a master iView (External Service) in a role

  1. Click on the master iView (to be precise: External Service) you want to change in the role structure. Choose Edit in the edit area.
  2. A second window appears. You can see and change the properties in this window.
  3. Save your changes and close the window.

The Edit pushbutton is not always active. It is only active if a role is reloaded into the edit area and no changes were made to the role. The Edit pushbutton becomes inactive when changes are made to the role. The Edit pushbutton becomes active again once you have saved the role.
