In the iPanel Assignments dialog box you assign to roles Unifier projects defined as Portal data sources, and Web components. When a user logs onto the Portal, the iPanel displays all of the Unifier projects and Web components assigned to all of the user’s roles.

Unifier projects defined as Portal data sources are integrated into the Portal environment as iPanels. The data source to role assignments determine whether or not a given Unifier project iPanel appears in a user’s iPanel. Which Unifier project elements are available to the user is determined in the Unifier project itself.

1. From the Enterprise Portal top-level navigation bar, choose Portal Admin > iPanel Assignments.
2. From the Set Permissions for Role menu, select the role to which you are assigning data sources.

3. In the Data Sources tab, select the Unifier project data sources you want to appear in the iPanel of all users assigned to the selected role.

• To select/deselect all the data sources, click Select All/Deselect All.
• To undo any changes made between saves, click Undo.

4. Click Save.
5. Repeat the procedure to configure the iPanel for additional roles.

Web components are accessed from the iPanel. They enable retrieval of related data from the World Wide Web. For information about creating Web components, see the documentation on Web components.

1. From the Enterprise Portal top-level navigation bar, choose Portal Admin > iPanel Assignments.
2. From the Set Permissions for Role menu, select the role to which you are assigning Web components.
3. In the Web Components tab, select the Web components you want to appear in the iPanel of all users assigned to the selected role.

• To select/deselect all the Web components, click Select All/Deselect All.
• To undo any changes made between saves, click Undo.

4. Click Save.
5. Repeat the procedure to configure the iPanel for additional roles.
