Use
As you start the Business Explorer Analyzer, the toolbar appears in Microsoft Excel. It allows you to access all the important functions for navigating and analyzing the query data.

The BEx toolbar functions are also in the Microsoft Excel main menu under SAP Business Explorer.
Functions

Opening
Choose Open if you want to open an available workbook or query. You get to the popup SAP BEx: Open... In the left-hand side of the screen, choose Workbooks or Queries to open an available workbook or query.
If you choose Queries, you can also define a new query for an InfoCube. To do this, choose New (from the right-hand side of the screen).

If you save the workbook, then the query is not detached. You can call the workbook at a later date, create a connection to the Business Information Warehouse Server, and refresh the queries contained in the workbook.

SavingRefreshing Queries
Refreshing the query means to request the current valid data from the BW Server. The query is automatically refreshed when you insert it into the workbook and when you change the navigational status, that is, unless you have activated the function Stop Automatic Refresh (see also:
Settings).Therefore, you only usually need the function Refresh Query in the following cases:

A query can only be refreshed if a connection exists between the Business Explorer and the Business Information Warehouse Server.
