Functions
You can make settings for connection to the Business Information Warehouse Server, for using a workbook template, for the availability of the context menu in the results area of the query and for managing a log book.
Stop automatic refresh
If you switch this function on, you can stop the query from being refreshed automatically after the following functions:
With the help of the function Stop Automatic Refresh, you can make several navigational steps in one or more queries without there being a delay after every step. Then deactivate the function. The stopped queries are now refreshed according to the new navigational status.
Connection to the BW Server
You can terminate the connection between the BEx Analyzer and the Business Information Warehouse Server, or you can set up a new connection.
Displaying Information on the BW Server
Choose
Display Information on BW Server if you want to know if and how you logged on to the Business Information Warehouse Server. A dialog box then tells you, either that no connection exists to the Business Information Warehouse Server, or it shows you the parameters of the current connection (user name, host server, system name and so on).See also:

With this function, you can determine into which workbook a query is embedded.
is created empty
Choose the function is created empty if you want to insert the query into an empty workbook.
is selected from list
Choose the function is selected from list if you want to choose beforehand, the workbook into which you want to insert the query.
is based on permanent template
Choose the function is based on permanent template if you want to insert the query into the workbook that you have defined as a permanent workbook template.

With this function, you determine which workbook is the permanent workbook template. You can then insert new queries into this kind of permanent workbook template. If you choose the function New workbook on embed

You can determine whether interactive functions such as navigation or sorting on the cell area of the query, are possible using the context menu or not.

If you switch on this function, you can stop warning messages appearing.
Log Book
Use the information function Log book if you want to log the activities of the Business Explorer in Excel.
You empty the log book by switching the log book record off and back on again. Save the contents of the log book before you turn off the Log function.

You can display the list of activities by choosing

The log book display is not constantly updated, meaning you must repeat the command Display log book from time to time in order to see the most current entries.
