Selecting and Organizing Documents: BEx Browser 
Purpose
The Business Explorer Browser (BEx Browser) makes it possible for you to access all document types of the Business Information Warehouse that are assigned to your role, or that you have stored in your favorites. In the BEx Browser, you can select and open the documents assigned to you, or store and manage new documents.
The document types which you can work with in the BEx Browser are:

Workbooks from the Business Explorer Analyzer (see also:
Evaluating Query Data), as well as links and documents from the Business Document Server, are managed in the Business Explorer Browser.The Business Explorer Browser displays all a user’s roles and favorites.

The term role (from Release 2.0B) was called activity group in Release 2.0A, and channel in Release 1.2B.
A user’s roles are assigned in the
role maintenance screen (transaction PFCG) or in the user maintenance screen (transaction SU01), (see also the documentation on the Administrator Workbench:
Setting up Authorizations with Role Maintenance)
.
The user can maintain favorites either directly in the BEx Browser, or in the SAP Easy Access menu.

Please make note that roles can be shown or hidden in the SAP Easy Access menu.
If your roles are not displayed in the SAP Easy Access menu:
The names of your roles are also shown in your user menu.
Functions
With the help of the Business Explorer Browser, you can access all workbooks and other documents that are assigned to you via your roles and tasks (activity groups). You also work in the Business Explorer Browser with all the workbooks and other document types that you have saved in your favorites (SAP Easy Access).
