Authorizations for Working with InfoCubes

Definition

With authorization object S_RS_ICUBE, you can limit how the user works with InfoCubes, or their subobjects, and give the user the authorization to analyze a certain InfoCube.

Different InfoCubes are available for the areas FI and HR. To make sure that a particular employee can only analyze the HR InfoCube from the area HR in a query, and not the FI InfoCube, enter a specific authorization for working with the HR InfoCube.

Use

The authorization object contains four fields:

InfoArea: You can enter the InfoArea key here, for which the user may edit InfoCubes.

InfoCube: A user is allowed to edit the InfoCubes that you specify here.

InfoCube subobject: When you specify a subobject, you name the part of the InfoCube that the user is allowed to edit.

The following subobject is relevant:

Data

Activity: Determines whether you are allowed to display, delete, maintain, or refresh the subobject.

When you execute a query, the system first checks whether the activity ‘display’ is permitted for the subobject ‘data’ of the InfoCube.
