Displaying Exceptions: Alert Monitor
Use
The Alert Monitor lists and displays exceptions containing values outside the specified threshold values.
Integration
Exceptions are displayed both in the BEx Analyzer and the Reporting Agent Scheduler of the Administrator Workbench. Furthermore, exceptions can also be displayed as an Alert Monitor in the Web report (see
Web Reporting, Alert Monitor).Prerequisites
You have defined one or more exceptions (see
Defining Exceptions) and chosen the follow-up action Alert Monitor for background processing in the Reporting Agent of the Administrator Workbench (see
Evaluating Exceptions in the Background).
Functions
Exceptions that trigger the follow up action Alert Monitor are logged in the exception log, and displayed in the Alert Monitor. If you activated the authorizations check when you set up the follow up action, the type of recipient, and the recipient’s authorizations, are taken into account when the exceptions are displayed.
BEx Analyzer display
In the BEx Analyzer, the exceptions are listed starting with the InfoArea level up to the individual views, that is the drilldowns you ran in the background. Views are named according to:
Double clicking on a view jumps you from the Alert Monitor directly into the corresponding view in the query. You get the information about the key figures from this view, and you can also continue to navigate from here.

Note that data for this view is taken from the current dataset. The exceptions that appear in the Alert Monitor however, refer to the data status that was valid at the time of the last batch run. The number of exceptions in the Alert Monitor may therefore be different to the number of exceptions in the query view.
Reporting Agent Scheduler display
The Alert Monitor is displayed in the Reporting Agent up to the exceptions level. The number of red, yellow and green alerts is listed for each exception.
