Scheduling Event Chains

Procedure

  1. Select Tools à Event Chain Processing in the Administrator Workbench.
  2. Select an event chain.
  3. To schedule the event chain, choose Start.

Result

The event chain is processed in the background.

A job is scheduled for every event in the chain. The job waits for the event and checks whether all other events in the chain were processed. If all the successful events in the chain and no unsuccessful events were triggered, then the chain was successfully triggered. A successful event is then triggered that was determined in Subsequent Processing

Make sure that there are enough background processes available because parallel processes run with event chain processing.

If an incorrect event was triggered in the chain, the unsuccessful event of the subsequent processing is also triggered for the chain, and the collection of events is restarted.

When you determine a time frame in which an event chain must be successfully processed, and the time frame was exceeded, the chain ends and is restarted the next day at a fixed time.
