Authorizations for the Query Definition 

Authorizations can be given for the following objects for the query definition in the Business Explorer:

The activities for the query definition are specified in the authorization object S_RS_COMP (Business Explorer - components). The authorization object has the fields: InfoArea, InfoCube, component type, component name and activity.

The following values are possible for the component type:

By specifying an InfoArea or an InfoCube, you can further restrict the component types. By specifying a component name, you can specify the authorization for individual components in more detail. Components that begin with 0 are delivered by SAP and cannot be changed. Components that are within the customer name range must begin with a letter of the alphabet.

Valid activities are:

01 (create)

02 (change)

03 (display)

06 (delete)

16 (execute)

32 (save)

 

User ‘ABC’ is allowed to create, display, change, delete and execute queries (component type ‘REP’), if the queries begin with the letters ‘TEST’, and refer to the InfoCube ‘PRODUCTION’. However, he/she is not allowed to save these queries as reusable.

User ‘ABC’ is allowed to use all other components (structures, restricted and calculated key figures) to build his/her own queries (meaning, he has the authorization to do display and execute). He/she is allowed to save these components as reusable.

The relevant authorizations, which allow this, are as follows:

InfoArea: ‘*’

InfoCube: ‘PRODUCTION’

Component type: ‘REP’

Component name: ‘TEST*’

Activity: ‘01’, ‘02’, ‘03’, ‘06’, ‘16’

 

InfoArea: ‘*’

InfoCube: ‘*’

Component type: ‘STR’, ‘CKF’, ‘RKF’

Component name: ‘*’

Activity: ‘03’, ‘16’
