Prerequisites

Functions

The following forms of currency translation are to be distinguished between when analyzing data in the Business Explorer:

Currency translation with regard to query definition
The way in which the individual structure elements of the query are to be translated is determined in the query definition. A currency translation type and a target currency can be entered per query element. Depending on the elements and the selected translation, the values for the query can be present in different currencies.

You can also define the currency translation with variable. When you execute the query, the system gets the variables for the target currency. For procedure see Setting Variable Currency Translation

Currency translation into a common target currency
All values for a query are translated using a translation type into a common target currency. The exchange rate is automatically created using the selected translation type.

Currency display in the database currency
All values for a query are displayed in the database currency. Depending on the data basis, this can be quite different currencies.
