Creating Currency Translation Types

Procedure

  1. Choose BW Administration ® Currency Translation Types ® Create
  2. Enter a technical name with a maximum of ten places for the new translation type. The name must begin with a letter.
  3. Choose an exchange rate type for the dynamic rate determination or specify an InfoObject that contains the exchange rate. The latter is only supported in the update.
  4. Establish whether you want to perform the currency translation with the inverse exchange rate or not.
  5. Decide whether or not the source currency should be determined from the data record or from an InfoObject. Where necessary specify the InfoObject from which the source currency should be determined.
  6. Decide whether you want to establish the target currency in the translation type, or wait until the translation before you determine the target currency.
  7. If the target currency is to be determined in the translation type, select either a fixed target currency or an InfoObject from which the target currency is to be determined.

  8. Select either a fixed or a variable time reference for the currency translation.
  9. With a fixed time reference, enter a key date or select the current date for the determination of the exchange rate.

With a variable time reference, select a standard InfoObject from which the point in time of the translation results, or select a special InfoObject.

  10. Save your entries.

Result
