Use
The Web Publisher or Web Publisher Wizard displays charts in the standard setting; that is, it is displayed in a bar chart. In the white area you can see the chart and the legend, the gray area within the white area is the plot area.
You can customize the size of each chart individually using the fields Width and Height. You can alter the display of the chart and legend in the context menu (right mouse click).
Integration
This function is available to you in the Business Explorer Web Publisher and the Web Publisher Wizard.
Prerequisites
You have chosen the item Chart in the Web Publisher or Web Publisher Wizard. You have then called up or selected the attribute Edit chart (double click) and chosen Change attribute.
Functions
You can choose from the following functions in the context menu:
Chart Type
You can choose from a number of different types of chart.

However, we recommend that you do not use three dimensional chart types, as they are not displayed well in the Web.
Chart Options
Each type of chart has different chart options. The following sub-menus are available on tab strips:
Title |
Allows you to give your chart a title, to label the various axes and determine which units are displayed (for example, USD or %)
After you have confirmed your entries by clicking on OK, you can select them in the chart and change them in any way that you want using the corresponding context menus such as Format Chart Title, Format Axis Label and Format Axis Title Unit. |
Axis |
Here, you can determine which axes are displayed. Primary axis describes the normal axis in the coordinate system. Secondary axis describes the opposite axis. |
Gridline |
Here, you can specify, in relation to which axis (Primary axis and Secondary axis), whether,
are displayed. |
Legend |
Here, you specify whether you want the legend to be displayed and if so, where.
You are not able to use the options Moveable and Show on demand on the Web |
Data Labels |
You have several options for displaying data labels, for example, Show value, Show percent, Show label, Show label and value and so on, or you can choose None. |
Data Table |
Allows you to integrate a table directly in the chart, either with or without the legend. You can make further settings under Format Data Table.
This function is not available for all chart types. |
Options |
Here, you can determine the number of visible rows in the user table. |
Formatting Charts
Select the outermost margin of the white area. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). On the tab page Pattern you can format the background of the entire chart. See also Pattern
Formatting Plot Areas
Select the plot area. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). The following sub-menus are available on tab strips:
Pattern |
Here, you can format the background of the plot area between the X and Y axes. See also Pattern
In a pie chart this area is a rectangle that surrounds the circle. |
Line |
Here, you can specify the margin around the plot area. This margin also incorporates the labels that belong to the chart, that is, the framed area is bigger than the area between the X and Y axes. |
You can specify the size and location of the plot area. Position your mouse over the plot area that you want to change and, keeping the left mouse button held down, drag the plot area to the size and location that you want within the white area.

Avoid stretching the plot area over the whole chart area. If you do this, the outline disappears from the visible area and you can no longer click on it. To reapply the original size of the plot area, choose Reset. However, by doing this, all settings that you have already made are lost.
Formatting Legends
Select the border or the white area of the legend that you fill in. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). The following sub-menus are available on tab strips:

Font |
Here, you can format the legend entries. You can choose from a large selection of fonts, for which you can specify the style (bold, italics and so on), size (in points) and color. |
Legend |
Here, you determine whether you want the legend to be displayed and if so, where.

You can specify the size and location of the legend. Position your mouse over the legend and, keeping the left mouse button held down, drag the legend to the size and location that you want within the white area.
Formatting Legend Indexes
Select a legend entry. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). On the tab strip Font you can set different font characteristics for the legend entries. You can choose from a large selection of fonts, for which you can specify the style (bold, italics and so on), size (in points) and color.
Formatting Legend Keys
Select a symbol used in the legend. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). On the Pointer tab strip you can specify the formatting of the symbols in the legend.

The settings in the field Line relate to the symbols in the legend and to the accompanying data series. See also Formatting Data Series.
Formatting Gridlines
Select the orientation lines within the coordinate system. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). The following sub-menus are available on tab strips:
Line |
Here, you can specify the style and color of the orientation lines. |
Scale |
Here, you can specify the scaling of the orientation lines. You can choose between the types Linear, Logarithmic and Time. |
If you want to reapply the original settings, choose Undo Format Gridlines in the context menu.
Formatting Axes
Select the X or the Y axis. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). The following sub-menus are available on tab strips:
Line |
Here, you can specify the style and color of the X or Y axis. |
Scale |
Here, you can specify the scaling of the X or Y axis. You can set start and end points for the scaling for each axis individually. You can also set the distance between the main and intermediate lines. |
Font |
Here, you can define the labeling settings for the X or Y axis. You can choose from a large selection of fonts, for which you can specify the style (bold, italics and so on), size (in points) and color. |
Number |
Here, you can determine how numbers are displayed on the X or Y axis (for example, percentage display, additional currency, general character settings). |
Alignment |
Here, you can determine the spatial arrangement of the labeling for the X or Y axis, for example, from left to right, from top to bottom or vice versa, or arranged at an angle. |
Formatting Data Series
Select a data series. You can display this function in the context menu (right mouse click). The following sub-menus are available on tab strips:
Pattern or Pointer (according to chart type) |
Pattern : Here, you can configure the background with regard to color, gradient, pattern and so on, as well as the outlines.Pointer (with tachometer): Here, you can determine the pointer display and the symbol display on the pointer, as well as the legend for the respective data series. |
Axes |
You can assign the chosen data series to either the Primary or Secondary Axis. |
Data Labels |
You have several options for displaying data labels, for example, Show value, Show percent, Show label, Show label and value and so on, or you can choose None. |

Depending on the chart type that you have chosen, there are even more formatting options available, like, for example, Shape, Y Error Bars, Options and so on.
Pattern
The tab strip Pattern is available under the functions Format Chart, Format Plot Area and Format Legend. It is made up of the following fields:
Fill |
Here, you can format the background for a chosen part of your chart. You can define the background with colors, patterns, textures, gradients and graphics. You can define another pattern under the background using the Transparent option. Automatic uses a white background. |
Border |
Using this function you can draw a border around a chosen area of the chart. You have the following options:
Under Style you can choose from different styles, or you can choose None if you do not want to have a border. You can also determine the color and width of the border. |
Sample |
Here, you can see a preview of your settings. |
Activities
To determine the size of the chart, enter the required values in the fields Width and Height. You can only specify the values in pixels.
To get to the functions for the individual chart display, select the required area in the chart (the white area) and choose the function that you want from the context menu (right mouse click). In accordance with the selected area, the top entry in the context menu changes. The remaining entries are repeated.
