Use

You can display the time periods and all scheduled generation dates for bank statements for all existing bank statement agreements as events. In addition, you can manually schedule new generation dates, and delete existing generation dates except the generation date for the binding bank statement agreement (event category 9999).

Prerequisites

Before you can display and edit generation dates, you need to allow the Bank Statement feature as a Used Attribute for the account product. Go to the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) and choose Product Management ® Product Definition ® Account Products ® Create/Change Account Product.

You have created the account for whose bank statement agreement you want to display and edit generation dates. You have done this by choosing Account Management (FS-AM) ® Account ® Account Master Data ® Create Account from the SAP Easy Access screen, or by using a Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI), and by basing it on the above named product. The system then automatically creates a bank statement agreement for this account. This is the binding agreement.

You have made the following settings in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) by choosing Item Management ® Basic Functions  ® Triggering Events for Event-Controlled Bank Statement.

Under Define Events, you have specified events that trigger the system to schedule an event-controlled bank statement when these events occur.

Under Set Up Event Control Parameters¸ you have specified the control parameters that define how the system is to behave if one of these defined events occurs.

If the system is also to generate an event-controlled bank statement for payment and standing orders that are not carried out, then you need to set this up in Customizing under Account Management (FS-AM) ® Order Management ® Payment Order/Standing Order ® Select Trigger for Event Controlled Bank Statement.

If the system is to also create an event-controlled bank statement when you post payment items, then you need to set this up in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) also. Choose Item Management ® Basic Functions ® Transaction Types and Transaction Type Groups ® Maintain and Assign Transaction Types for Payment Items.

If the system is also to create an event-controlled bank statement for returns, you also need to set this up in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) under Item Management ® Basic Functions ® Returns ® Define Returnable Transaction Types.

You need to create the generation dates that you want to display or process in one of the following ways first:

The system has scheduled a generation date using the specifications that you entered in the account on the Bank Statement tab page in the Time Periods area for the corresponding bank statement agreement.

You cannot delete this generation date.

The system scheduled a generation date due to an existing triggering event.

You have created a generation date. See also the section Create Generation Date Manually.

Note

The next generation date is always the oldest print date of all existing scheduled time periods or events.

Procedure

Displaying Generation Dates

...

...

       1.      From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Account Management ® Account ® Bank Statement ® Display and Edit Creation Dates.

       2.      Enter the account identification data and choose Continue.

       3.      The system displays the Display and Edit Generation Dates dialog box, which shows all the existing bank statement agreements for the selected account with their time periods and events.

Note

To navigate to the data of the account contract, proceed as follows:

Choose the corresponding bank statement agreement and then the Contract button.

Double-click on a bank statement agreement.

Note

To go to the detail display of each event, proceed as follows:

Select the required event and choose the Detail button.

       Double-click on the event.

Creating Generation Dates Manually

In addition to the displayed generation dates, you can create as many extra generation dates as required, on which the system is to provide a bank statement.

Note

This is not possible if the underlying account is currently being processed and is thus locked (for example, due to a contract change, or to the posting of a payment item). If this is the case, the system initially displays a message informing you that the change mode cannot be provided.

...

...

...

       1.      To create a new generation date, start off as described under Display Generation Dates.

       2.      Select the agreement for which you want to manually schedule the new generation date, then choose Create Event.

Note

The generation dates (events) to be created must be either on or after the generation date of the last bank statement.

       3.      Select the event to be created. You are provided with an extended search help for standard and customer events for this.

       4.      Enter the print date for the event to be created.

Note

It is not recommended that you specify a print date for the events from the With Next Bank Statement, Also Without Turnovers due date category. If you specify a date here, it is ignored by the system.

       5.      Choose Continue.

Under the corresponding agreement, the system creates the new event from the selected event category with the generation date that you entered.

       6.      Choose Save. The system displays the selection screen for the transaction again.

Deleting Generation Dates

You can delete all event-controlled generation dates if the following exceptions do not apply:

The event is number 9999 Bank Statement x Days after Item at Latest. This event belongs to the binding bank statement agreement and must, therefore, be deleted. This is because the bank is obliged to provide information to the customer.

The underlying contract is currently being processed, and is thus locked, for example, due to a contract change or the posting of a payment item. If this is the case, the system initially displays a message informing you that the change mode cannot be provided.

...

...

       1.      Start off as described under Displaying Generation Dates.

       2.      Then select the event (generation date) that you want to delete, and choose Delete Event. The system deletes the selected generation date.

       3.      Choose Save.

Examples

You want to find out when the next bank statement is being printed for your customer.

Your customer would like to receive a one-off additional bank statement on the 20th of the current month. You can trigger the generation of this statement by manually scheduling another generation date for the corresponding agreement.
