Data Load Layer (FS-BA-DL)
This component consists of functions to load source data and results data from SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI) into the specific interfaces for the Source Data Layer (SDL) or Results Data Layer (RDL) in the Bank Analyzer system. This is part of a joint extraction, transformation, and load process (ETL process) with which you can transfer the data from the customer-defined source systems into the Bank Analyzer system.
The following graphic shows the components that are part of the ETL process:

...
The system extracts the data from the operative systems (full load or delta load) and saves the extracted data in SAP NetWeaver BI. The data is saved in DataStore objects. The structure of these DataStore objects corresponds to the data from the source systems.
The system transforms the extracted, operative data into an analytical format in SAP NetWeaver BI and saves the data as transformation results. The analytical format corresponds to the data format of the inbound interfaces for the Source Data Layer and the Results Data Layer.
The system loads the transformation results as InfoProviders from SAP NetWeaver BI into the Bank Analyzer system.
· The Data Load Layer links the transformed data in SAP NetWeaver BI to the storage locations in the Bank Analyzer system, reads the data from the InfoProviders of SAP NetWeaver BI, and calls the relevant interfaces of the Source Data Layer and Results Data Layer.
You can parallelize the data load process due to the large volume of data.
· You can transform custom key figures and characteristics flexibly during the data load process using Customizing settings.
· Process control is part of the Data Load Layer and, at the same time, is integrated into the SAP NetWeaver BI technology. This ensures that the entire ETL process is subject to a standard process control and monitoring.
· The function has been integrated into BI technology by means of a new process chain category FS Data Load function. You can use this in the definition of a BI process chain. You schedule and monitor processes in the BI system.
· The system writes the status of the process into the BI system.
· During the load process, the system monitors every object that is changed during the transformation process in the BI system. The system manages the changes as change pointers in the Change Notification Service (CNS). This tool collects all changes to an object (in this case Bank Analyzer primary object) so that it can make the changes in one go.
The system generates change pointers in the BI system and stores them in the Bank Analyzer system. These change pointers are the starting point for the load process. The system then updates all objects in Bank Analyzer that have been changed in the NetWeaver BI system (by calling the update BAPIs for the SDL objects or the APIs for the RDL data).
· The system writes a log for primary objects that have been changed.
● The Data Load Layer does not contain data checks. The system sends data that has been transformed and mapped directly to the inbound interface of the Bank Analyzer system.
● Each load process can supply the last version of an object only. It is not possible to process more than one version for each business day.
●
The system
does not load business partner data. The only way that the system can load
business partner data into the Bank Analyzer system is by means of an
existing interface for
the business partner.
●
The system
does not load any data from the
historical database
(HDB).
