Producing Location Determination Activities

If you configure the function Capable-To-Promise (CTP) via the location determination activity in integrated rule maintenance and want to define that production should take place in the first location substitution, you must make sure that a "dummy plant" has been entered in the first row.

For all other substitutions, you do not have to enter a "dummy plant".

Example

You created a location determination procedure using locations L1 and L2. There are two production plants. In the first location determination activity (0001) you defined that, for the location determination in L2, the availability check should be carried out first and then production should be started.

Case 1

Location determination procedure

Location

Activity

L1

L2

0001

In this case, production is carried out in L1.

If L1 is a distribution plant, the location determination activity Production is completely ignored.

Case 2

Location determination procedure

Location

L0 (dummy plant)

L1

L2

An ATP check is carried out in L1. A planned order is created in L2 for the remaining quantity.
