Optimization Profiles 

Use

The following table describes, in general, the profiles the Optimizer uses and how. Access each profile individually from the SAP APO Easy Access menu. Choose Supply Network Planning ® Environment ® Current Settings ® Profiles , or Profiles in Supply Network Planning Customizing. For more information on these profiles, see the Implementation Guide (IMG), and the field-level help for each profile.

Used in Optimization Planning Run

SNP Demand Profile

In this profile, you specify how the system calculates demand via the forecast horizon (demand types) and demand horizons (in conjunction with category groups in Customizing).

SNP Supply Profile

In this profile you specify how the system calculates supply via the production horizon and supply horizons (in conjunction with category groups in Customizing).

SNP Optimization Profile

In this profile, you specify the linear programming method to be used and the constraints to be considered during the Optimization run.

SNP Cost Profile

In this profile, you specify the weight given to different categories of costs in the objective function.

Lot Size Profile (transportation lanes)

In this profile, you specify the minimum and maximum volume, weight, and pallet limits. You also specify the pull-in horizon, which indicates the number of days prior to the actual due date the system can fulfill requirements in order to fill the transport vehicle to at least the minimum level. Also used to determine rounding values for discretization of lot sizes.

SNP Optimization Bound Profile

In this profile (if you want to run a new SNP optimizer planning run), you can limit possible decision variable discrepancies from the last optimization run to increase planning stability. You can, for example, permit small discrepancies at the start of the planning period, and spread these over to the end of the horizon, in order to avoid too many short-term planning alterations.

Your new plan does not have to be based on the directly preceding optimization run, you can also choose earlier runs.
