Function documentation Classification of Commission Contracts for Target Agreements  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use the functions of target agreements in Incentive and Commission Management (ICM) to classify commission contracts in order to assign a target value to a classification group of commission contracts for a specified length of time, consisting of one or more periods. You do not have to specify the same target value individually for each commission contract.

Features

You can classify commission contracts for target agreements differently, according to whether you use the target rule or your own specifications:

...

       1.      Own specifications: you define your own target details for each commission contract  A target value can be assigned to a single commission contract.

       2.      Classifying target rules can be used to group commission contracts. More than one commission contract with the same classifying attributes can be grouped together (determined by a grouping method such as portfolio assignment). A target value may be assigned to more than one commission contract at any one time.

       3.      Global (generic) target rules can be used to group all commission contracts. A target value may be assigned to all commission contracts at any one time.

The system always checks in the specified order: First it checks whether individual specifications have been made. If this is not the case, the system checks if a classification has been specified. If this is also not the case, the system searches for a global specification.

Caution

If no classifying specification has been made, the system issues an error message since at least one of these settings must have been made.

Note

Note that commission contracts are classified by complex target types whereas target values for target rules are specified through elementary targets.

Target values are specified on the basis of the commission contract for elementary targets. Unlike individual target rules where the target values can be used everywhere that the elementary target is linked with a complex target, target values in classified or generic target rules are not intended for multiple use; they are not divisible, and they are only valid for those target rules for which they were created.

Activities

Target rules determine which target values apply to which commission contracts.

You create a target rule for a single commission contract on the Target Agreements tab page.

     Select a standard agreement.

Then select the required complex target type. The Target Agreements, Periods and Target Rules screen is displayed.

     Specify the required target rule.

You create a target rule for more than one commission contract or all contracts in the SAP Easy Access menu by choosing Incentive and Commission Management ® Administration ® Current Administration ® Edit Target Rules.

The system checks in the above sequence of classification options whether a target rule exists from which target values can be derived.
