Component documentation Portfolio Assignment/Reassignment   Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

A portfolio of business objects (such as customer contracts) is generally managed in their own portfolio management system, whereas the agents responsible for these customer contracts are stored in a different system (such as the commission management system) and are likewise represented by business objects (such as commission contracts).

The functions of portfolio assignment and reassignment are designed to help you manage the relationships, assignments and reassignments between these business objects located in the different systems.

With portfolio assignment (PFO) you can easily manage the relationships between objects of a portfolio management system and commission contracts in another system based on specific assigning criteria and to perform these assignments.

Portfolio reassignment helps you additionally to transfer available portfolio to one or more new commission recipient.

Implementation Considerations

In most cases, objects are managed in front-end systems and not in PFO itself; for instance a policy management system manages the life cycle of insurance policies. These operational systems must often be adapted in such a way that they are able to report the creation, change or termination of the life cycle of their objects to PFO. This is the only way of maintaining the status in PFO up to date (permanent integration). Portfolio assignment provides an interface for this. It is also possible to initiate a complete transfer of object data to PFO (migration).

Integration

Portfolio assignment is integrated with ICM, FS-ICM und FS-PM, however it is not part of these systems as it is a separate component.

The PFO component has the following features:

It can be connected to any external system

It manages the relationships between objects but not the objects themselves

It provides a period and version management

It allows the enhancement of data structures for object relationships through the addition of customer attributes

It provides an exit technology that supplements standard administration methods (Implementation Guide)

Features

PFO provides three transactions to define and assign objects:

Segment (PFO_SEG): Create and edit segments

Business object (PFO_GZO): Assign business objects to segments

(Assignment object) PFO_SZO: Assign assignment objects to segments

You access these transactions in the SAP Easy Access menu under Accounting ® Incentive and Commission Management ® Master Data ® Portfolio Assignment.

Note

You can enhance the following effective keys and attributes of the tables with customer includes:

      PFO_GO_00IP

      PFO_ZO_0000

      PFO_SEG

      PFO_GZO

      PFO_SZO

For information on how to use customer includes, see the documentation of the Implementation Guide.

The standard delivery of PFO contains two sample object types and a segment type:

Object type 00IP for a business object (such as an insurance policy)

Object type OOCC for an assignment object (such as a commission contract)

Segment type 0CCS for the standard segment

Note

You can create and manage your own layouts for displaying and changing objects using the standard functions of the ALV grid control.

For more information on the functions of portfolio assignment/reassignment, see the system documentation of Framework for Object Assignment.
