Definition

Yard activities are planned or executed actions in the yard.

Use

YM enables the creation of the following types of yard activities for vehicles:

·        Check-in/check-out

·        Scheduling

·        Movements

·        Weighing

·        Loading/unloading

·        Sealing/un-sealing

Note

The blocking and un-blocking of vehicles are also implemented as yard activities.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

A yard activity can be created in advance by yard managers and, to a more limited extent, desktop users. The activity can be automatically confirmed, or subsequently confirmed by an RF device user, or the yard manager him/herself (via the Complete confirmation monitor method).

An RF user can also create an activity during physical execution.

Example

A movement activity can be created and immediately confirmed at the time when a spotter takes transport equipment and moves it to a parking space proposed by the system.

Yard Activity Life Cycle

Yard activities can have any of the following statuses:

·        1 Planned – activity is created and available for execution

·        2 Started – activity execution has commenced

·        4 Completed – activity execution has been completed

·        5 Cancelled – activity has been manually cancelled (via Cancel monitor method, or via scheduling chart in the case of scheduling activities)

·        6 Vehicle departed – the vehicle has left the yard

After a vehicle has been checked-out and has left the yard, the statuses of all its related activities are changed to 6 Vehicle departed . The vehicle, and its activities, are displayed under the Departed Vehicles object class in the yard monitor. These activities are later archived. If the vehicle is permanent, it is also displayed under the Vehicle s object class.
