Vehicle 

Definition

A vehicle is a means of transporting or carrying goods.

 

Use

A vehicle may be created as a means of transport or transport equipment by:

...

       1.      Yard managers via the yard monitor. The yard manager may create a vehicle in a number of ways:

                            a.      Invoking the Create method, whereby a vehicle is created, without reference to a document. The vehicle may subsequently be assigned to a document.

                            b.      Invoking the Process document method, whereby a vehicle is created with reference to the document.

                            c.      Invoking the Create check-in activity for an inbound document, whereby a vehicle is created with reference to the document and is immediately checked-in

       2.      The checkpoint operator via the checkpoint tool.

After a vehicle has been created, yard activities can be created for it.
