ALV

Hierarchy Tree

1.

Display the relevant Vehicle objects.

2.

From the ALV, select one or more rows corresponding to the vehicles for which you want to create movement activities.

From the hierarchy tree, select one or more objects corresponding to the vehicles for which you want to create movement activities.

3.

From the ALV tool bar, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and then Create movement activity from the pop-up menu.

The Create Movement Activity dialog box appears.

If one vehicle was selected, its source location class and location are automatically displayed.

If more than vehicle was selected, the Location Class and Source Location fields in the Source section are filled with **.

Right-click the icon to the left of the object representing the vehicle for which you want to create a movement activity and then choose Create movement activity from the pop-up menu.

If you have selected more than one object, right-click the icon to the left of any of the objects.

The Create Movement Activity dialog box appears.

If one vehicle was selected, its source location class and location are automatically displayed.

If more than vehicle was selected, the Location Class and Source Location fields in the Source section are filled with **.

4.

The system proposes a destination for the movement activity based on its movement destination determination mechanism. You can accept this proposal, or enter your own destination location.

5.

If you want to print the movement instructions:

...

                            a.      Select Print Instructions.

                            b.      In the Printer field, enter the name of the printer from which the instructions are to be printed.

                            c.      In the NrOfCopies field, enter the number of copies to be printed.

If you leave this field blank, the system prints the default number of copies, as determined in Customizing for Logistics Execution ® Yard Management ® General Settings ® Define Yard Printers.

Example

You may want to print movement instructions for a driver without an RF device. The printed instructions may be given to the driver, who performs the movement and then verbally confirms its completion. You then confirm the movement via the Complete confirmation monitor method.

6.

If you want the movement activities to be automatically confirmed, leave Auto-confirmation selected.

Recommendation

We recommend that you leave Auto-confirmation selected when the movement is to be performed by a driver without an RF device, such as the driver of a third-party vehicle who is dropping off transport equipment.

7.

Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to verify the data.

8.

Choose Enter.

Movement activities are created for each of the selected vehicles.
