Installing and Managing Licenses

How you import the license key into your system depends on the component for which the license is valid for.

SAP Web AS

·        You can find information about installing, testing, and deleting SAP licenses in Structure linkSAP License (BC-CST-SL). This documentation is valid for both ABAP-only and ABAP+Java installations of the SAP Web Application Server.

·        The procedure for Java-only installations is described in Licensing the SAP J2EE Engine.

SAP Enterprise Portal

You can find information about using the license key for the portal in Licensing the Portal and also in the SAP Service Marketplace under the alias /licensekey.

Note

The portal can be started on the Java-only installation of the Web AS or on the ABAP+Java installation. Apply for the appropriate Web AS license, as described above.

High Availability

In a high availability environment you also have to apply for the hardware key of the host that replaces the message server if this fails. For more information see Structure linkHigh Availability Configurations.
