Functions of the Detail Area: Account Assignment 

Definition

Information about the controlling area, business area, company code, personnel area, and personnel subarea of a force element.

Use

It must be possible to assign accounts and carry out budgeting for a force element.

This is achieved by creating a relationship between an organizational unit and a cost center (for more information, see Functions of the Detail Area: Master Cost Center).

The cost center is used for domestic budgeting and account assignment (domestic organization).

The following information is passed down:

·        Account assignment features are passed down to the subordinate organizational units and positions, if they were not maintained there.

·        If account assignment features are maintained for a superior organizational unit, these are overridden by the entries on the Account Assignment tab page of a subordinate organizational unit.

Structure

The force element can contain the following information:

·        Controlling area

You can assign a force element a controlling area, which is the highest organizational unit in Controlling.

A manual entry is not required, because the system determines and displays the correct controlling area on the basis of the cost centers assigned to the force element.

·        Business area

You can assign a business area to a force element.

·        Company code

You can assign a company code to a force element.

·        Personnel area

You can assign a personnel area to a force element.

·        Personnel subarea

You can assign a personnel subarea area to a force element.

Integration

Data for the controlling area, business area, company code, personnel area, and personnel subarea is passed down to subordinate force elements, if assignments were not made for them directly.

Data for the controlling area, business area, personnel area, and personnel subarea is used as default values in Personnel Administration.

The fields on this tab page are integrated with the infotypes in expert mode of Organizational Management as follows:

·        Controlling area:         Account assignment features      (Infotype 1008)

·        Business area:           Account assignment features      (Infotype 1008)

·        Company code:          Account assignment features      (Infotype 1008)

·        Personnel area:          Account assignment features      (Infotype 1008)

·        Personnel subarea:     Account assignment features      (Infotype 1008)
