Explosion Scope
A grouping of parameter values that control the formula explosion or where-used list.
The following explosion scopes exist in Recipe Management that control formula explosions and where-used lists as specified:
|
Explosion Scope |
Formula Explosion or Where-Used List |
|
AGGR: Complete Aggregation (Materials and Specifications) |
A formula explosion is performed within the formulas of the recipe during the transformation of a general recipe to a master recipe and during the synchronization of a formula. |
|
AGGR_M: Aggregation (Materials) |
The
formulas of the recipe are aggregated when you call the |

AGGR_M: Aggregation (Specifications) |

|
CMP: Composition |
A cross-recipe formula explosion is performed when the composition is generated from the I/O substances. The compositions from the specification database are also taken into account. |
|
FIND: Complete Search (Materials and Specifications) |
This explosion scope is not currently being used. |
|
FIND_M: Search (Materials) |
If you choose the Multilevel Search function using the extended search function Formula Contains Input Material in the formula search, a cross-recipe where-used list is executed for each formula. The formula is selected if the search criteria entered are met at any where-used list level (see field help for the extended search function short text in the formula search initial screen). |
|
FIND_S: Search (Specifications) |
If you choose the Multilevel Search function using the extended search function Formula Contains Input Substance in the formula search, a cross-recipe where-used list is executed for each formula. The formula is selected if the search criteria entered are met at any where-used list level (see field help for the extended search function short text in the formula search initial screen). |
|
IRL: Complete List of Raw Materials (Materials and Specifications) |
This explosion scope is not currently being used. However, you can choose it as a modeling parameter like the other explosion scopes except for FIND, FIND_M, and FIND_S in formula explosion modeling. |

You can specify the following for each explosion scope in Customizing for Recipe Management in the IMG activity Specify Explosion Scopes:
· You can specify whether the system is to explode the formulas that it found in formula explosion, or, whether it should copy the compositions that were specified in the formulas that were found, instead.
· You can specify whether from the formulas that were found for a material or substance, the system should only explode those in which the material or substance is the primary output.
· You can specify whether the system should also explode the formulas that it found in which the Reaction indicator is set, or whether it should copy the compositions that were specified in these formulas instead.
· You can specify whether the system should take secondary outputs into account as negative inputs in the formula explosion calculations.
· You can specify whether the system should take changes in the water ratio and other losses into account in the formula explosion calculations, by using other reference quantities. For more information, see Determination of Reference Quantities.
Each explosion scope is assigned an event in the Specify Explosion Scopes IMG activity. In the Specify Events IMG activity you can define for each event how different component types are taken into account in the events, that is, whether a calculation or formula explosion is performed for a component of a particular component type and whether the components of this component type are copied to the result of the calculation or formula explosion.
