Architectural Object Type
By defining architectural object types, you define the different architectural levels you wish to have in the system and their relationship to each other. First you decide which object type you wish to create, change or display in the Process Architectural Object dialog.
You define and name your own architectural object types in Customizing. The following types are recommended:
- Locality
- Building
- Property
- Floor
- Part of building
- Space or room
- Space in building
- Area of property (land)
- ...
You can decide on any names for your architectural
object types.
The same attributes (such as
measurements) exist in the architectural view and in the usage view, which
makes assignments between the two views possible. For
this reason the master data of the Business Entity, Building and
Property in the usage view has to be assigned to the corresponding
architectural object types, for instance a business entity is generally
assigned to a locality.
This assignment is made in Customizing. Choose:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ® Flexible Real Estate Management (Enterprise Extension) ® Master Data ® Architectural View ® Architectural Object Type ® Create Architectural Object Types
An architectural object consists of characteristics typical of that hierarchical level. Architectural objects and their attributes are not used directly in financial processes, such as rental.
You can assign an architectural object any kind of function. These functions are defined in Customizing. Choose:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ® Flexible Real Estate Management (Enterprise Extension) ® Master Data ® Architectural View ® Architectural Object Type ® Functions per Architectural Object Type
Example:
Architectural object Room – Function Office
The assignment of an architectural object to the usage view is
time-dependent. You can link one architectural object with
multiple usage objects, and on the other hand, you can link
multiple architectural objects with one usage object.
