You can link architectural objects and usage objects in three different ways:

                            a.      On an existing usage object (Link to Architecture tab)

                            b.      On an existing architectural object (Usage Objects tab)

In both of these cases, you can link the objects by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Assign. To remove the assignment, select the object and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Undo Assignment.

                            c.      When creating a new usage object (with one exception: rental objects)

In this case, you decide on the initial screen of the transaction if you want the usage object to be created with a link to an existing architectural object. Removing the assignment is done in the same way as in the other two cases.

Note:

When you link objects in the usage and architectural views, you always have to start with the highest-level object. On the other hand, you have to start with the lowest object in the structure when you remove the link.

Example

You have created a locality and an architectural building. You first have to assign a business entity to the locality in the usage view before you can link the lower level building to the architectural building.
