You use this procedure to create a new sample.

You have the following options for creating a graphic:

• Generating a chart with a random number of columns and rows
• Generating a chart with random values for the specified number of columns and rows
• Generating a chart using a predefined set of data

You can also specify that negative values are to be included.

The Chart Designer is running.

Choose File ® New Sample.

The dialog box below is displayed.

To generate a chart with a random number of columns and rows leave the radio button Random number of columns and rows activated.

To generate a chart with random values for the specified number of columns and rows:

1. Select the radio button Generate random values for specified number of columns/rows
2. Specify the number of series and categories in the fields Series and Categories.

To generate a chart using a predefined set of data:

1. Activate the radio button Generate data from a predefined set of data from the list below
2. Select the file in the column Name
3. Choose OK.

To add negative values select the checkbox Add negative values.

A chart is generated on the basis of the settings specified in the dialog box.
