Creating a Document Info Record in the CAD Desktop

Use

You can create, change, or delete document info records in the CAD desktop - in the CAD view, in the CAD worklist, or in the check-in assistant.

You can carry out the function in dialog mode, or in the background. If you process it in the background, the system takes the information necessary for the creation of a document info record from Customizing.

Prerequisites

The CAD file must be loaded.

Activities

To create a document info record in dialog mode, select the desired CAD file by double-clicking on it.

The system offers you a selection of the document types that you defined in Customizing for the selected file name extension of the CAD file, and goes to the create mode for document management.

To create a document info record in the background, select the desired CAD files.

If you have not defined a document type in Customizing for CAD Desktop for the corresponding file name extension, you must now select a document type.

Then choose Create ® Create Document.

The system carries out all remaining steps.
