Project-Oriented Enterprise
StructureFor effective and concise reporting of particular project key figures on certain levels of the enterprise hierarchy, it is necessary to link the projects to the organizational structure. This affects, amongst other things, projects in which several partners are involved, for example construction projects which involve several departments or subsidiaries of the same corporate group.
Linking projects to the organizational unit is carried out via the joint venture partner. The distribution of a project between different departments or subsidiaries is reflected in the partner shares of the joint venture.
The basis for the project-oriented enterprise structure is the hierarchy framework for the component Organizational Management. This provides all hierarchy framework functions, for example:
· Links can be created using Drag & Drop.
· Objects and links have a certain validity period.
· Plan versions enable the structural representation of planning scenarios.
In the project-oriented enterprise structure you can assign joint venture partners to organizational units.
· The joint venture partners that are linked to the organizational structure are administered in the component Joint Venture Accounting.
· An infotype is available for assigning the joint venture partners to the organizational units.
· There is also an infotype for flagging organizational units as a supported company or an associated company. Furthermore you can define further customer-specific attributes.
· You can check the consistency and completeness of the project-oriented enterprise structure with regard to the joint venture partner master data.
The following figure shows an example of how organization unit objects (corporate group, business area, line of business, subsidiary and associated company) are represented in the project-oriented enterprise structure.

· Selection via organizational units is not supported in the period-end closing (Controlling and Financial Accounting) and for reporting tools such as Report Writer, drilldown reports and line item reports.
· Displaying transaction-related authorizations based on hierarchy framework nodes is not supported.
