Function documentation Navigation in the DMWB Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

All objects in the DMWB are called entities of a content model. In this documentation, the shorter term entities is also used. An entity is a concrete or abstract object in the content model that is uniquely identifiable and for which various types of information are stored. The status of an entity is either active or inactive. An active entity is converted to the internal format of the Knowledge Provider runtime layer. The total amount of entities as represented in the DMWB in a hiererchical structure is called the entity tree.

In the DMWB, there are three views for representing entities. The sorting criteria for the views are as follows:

When you first open the DMWB, the Document areas view opens by default.

DMWB screen areas

Double-click on an entity in the entity tree to display the data associated with it in the right-hand part of the screen. If you are executing several navigation steps in a row, you can choose Utilities ® Display Navigation Window to see a list of the steps in the lower right-hand part of the screen.

Here, you can use the arrow keys to move backwards or forwards through the steps.

To see a context-sensitive menu of the functions available for a particular object, right-click on the object.

There are also three tools available that are independent of the entities and that allow you to switch from the entity view in the right-hand section of the screen to tabulation or connections. You can use these tools for the following entities:

To navigate forwards, double-click on the fields in the right-hand part of the screen. The field you click on is displayed as the main entry in its current environment. Again, you can go to another field by double-clicking on that field. Choose the arrow pointing left This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to return to the previous entry.

Example

To take an example from the graphic above, if you double-click on the name of the virtual class IWB_DSTTXT_V in the entity tree, the superordinate virtual PHIO class IWB_DSTTXT_V and its associated data are displayed:
