Assignment of External Deployment
Batches
Assignment of external batches to ordered materials for tracking along the entire supply chain.
The batch where-used list fulfils the legal and technical requirements in terms of full verification of the composition and origin of materials. At the same time, certain materials also have to be accounted for right through to the consumer. Not only is this legally required for certain materials, in some cases it is also desirable.
The information required here is transferred on the delivery note and entered with this transaction. The representation is not explicitly dependent on the manufacturer. A simple material bill of material is used as a basis for the input screen.
The object contains the following fields:
· Purchasing Document/Item
Purchase order or purchase order item containing materials that are to be assigned external batches. You can either enter the purchase order number directly or choose the purchasing document with the search help (F4).
· Material
Material that refers to the above purchasing document/item and to which external deployment batches are to be assigned. The system proposes the material automatically when you enter the purchasing document/item.
· Batch
Batch that is to be assigned to the material. You can use the search help (F4) to choose the batch.
· Delivery Batch
Vendor-specific batch assigned to the material (batch used by the vendor to manage the material).
· Level
By entering an integer in the Level field, you can create a hierarchy from the material components. The higher the level number, the lower the position in the hierarchy.
· Material
Material that is to be assigned the batch.
· Batch
Batch that is to be assigned to the material. You can use the search help (F4) to choose the batch.
Plant
Plant to which the material is assigned in logistics.
Material Short Text
Description of the material.
· Quantity/Unit of Measure
Quantity of the material and units of measure in which the material is managed.
· Vendor
Vendor from whom the material was procured.
· Delivery Batch
Vendor-specific batch assigned to the material (batch used by the vendor to manage the material).
Batches can be used in the processes along the supply chain.
Batches
· Are always assigned to a material
· Can only be used with materials that are handled in batches (indicator in the material master record)
You use transaction /ISDFPS/EXT_BATCH to create/enter/change external deployment batches for ordered materials.
You can display external deployment batches with transaction /ISDFPS/EXT_BATCH3.
This transaction has a separate authorization object.
The transactions consist of one screen that is divided into a selection area (top part of the screen) and a detail area (bottom part). The transaction interface is always the same, irrespective of whether the goods have already been received.
By choosing Edit-Switch Assembly (F6) in the menu bar, you can change existing external assemblies in addition to entering new ones.
You can also display the change documents for the relevant operation by choosing Edit-Change Documents (F5).
In the Selection Criteria subscreen in the selection area, use the search help (F4) in the Purchasing Document field to choose the purchasing document or enter the document number directly. In the Item field, enter the item on the purchasing document that contains materials to which you want to assign batches. The system proposes the material that matches the purchasing document item in the Material field. Then assign the batch to the material in the Batch field.
You can enter a material hierarchy in the detail area.
By entering an integer in the Level field, you can create a hierarchy from the material components. The higher the level number, the lower the position in the hierarchy.
In addition to entering new external assemblies, you can also change existing ones. If the changes are minor and do not have a major impact on the properties of the materials, the system appends letters from the switched assembly onwards in all higher-level batch numbers. A new batch is created as a result. If the changes are more extensive, however, you have to change the material number of the header material (for example, if the range of a missile is changed). In this case, the components between the switched components and the main material are not renamed.
