Configuring the IIS as the Intermediary
Server 
Use
To use Microsoft’s IIS as an intermediary server with the SAP J2EE Engine, we provide the IisProxy module for the IIS. This module replaces the SAPJ2EE ISAPI module that was provided with Release 6.20. The IisProxy module contains an ISAPI filter and an ISAPI extension. It consists of the dynamic link library IisProxy.dll and the corresponding configuration file IisProxy.xml. To support the use of SSL, it uses the SAP Cryptographic Library.
Use the procedures that follow to install and configure the use of this module on the IIS and to configure the module to support SSL.
Prerequisites
If you are going to use SSL for the connection between the IISProxy module and the SAP J2EE Engine, then you have obtained the SAP Cryptographic Library.
Procedure

1. If you have been using the SAPJ2EE ISAPI module, back up your existing configuration.
2. Install the IisProxy module on the IIS.
4. If the connection to the SAP J2EE Engine should use SSL, then install the SAP Cryptographic Library and configure the IisProxy module to support SSL.
5. If you are using client certificates for authentication, then configure their use on the SAP J2EE Engine. For this step, see Configuring the Use of Client Certificates via an Intermediary Server in the security documentation.
Result
You can use the IIS as the intermediary server to establish connections to the SAP J2EE Engine.
