Features

Using WM with Different Variants

Before you can activate WM for a storage location, you have to assign a warehouse number to a particular combination of site and storage location in Customizing in the Logistics Execution section of Enterprise Structure. The extent to which you activate the WM functions can be configured in Customizing for Logistics Execution under Shipping ® Picking ® Lean WM. You can assign a degree of activation to a particular combination of site, storage location and WM warehouse number for control purposes. The following cases can exist:

In this case, you do not enter any data for the combination of site/storage location/warehouse number.

In Customizing, you leave the field empty for the combination of site/storage location/warehouse number. Stock is managed at storage bin level.

In Customizing, you enter a degree of activation of 1, 3 or 4 for the combination of site/storage location/warehouse number. Stock is not managed at storage bin level. You do, however, generate transfer orders for deliveries.

In Customizing, you enter a degree of activation of 2 for the combination of site/storage location/warehouse number. Stock is not managed at storage bin level. You do, however, use distribution orders for distributing goods using merchandise-drive flow-through. You can only use this method if you use Lean WM.
