Definition
You use master data as a basis for managing transactions and positions in the CFM component. Master data is general data which does not vary from one transaction to another and which you only have to enter once.

The system uses master data to process business transactions. It is a prerequisite for executing transactions.
Master data is also frequently used as selection criteria for generating standard reports.
