Processing Characteristics
Use
This report determines and stores the values of the processing characteristics for certain loans. Processing characteristics are indicators that provide information about certain properties of a loan contract. This includes information about the disbursement status or the status of capital amounts, future flows to be posted, or business operations for the loan. You receive the information by way of the values for the processing characteristics, for example the processing characteristic Disbursement Status can have the values Not disbursed or Partially disbursed, among others. The value of a processing characteristic for a contract at any given time is unique. The processing characteristics provide you with a quick overview of the status of the loan.
If you want to use the processing characteristics, you need to install this report for all loans when you upgrade to Release Banking 4.63/CFM 2.0.
You also need to use the report if:
After you have initialized the processing characteristics you also have the option of displaying the current processing characteristics for the loan from within the loan itself.
Integration
All of the standard applications that you use to change the contract or flow data of a loan update the processing characteristics. (For example, the processing characteristic Disbursement Status can be changed using the function Disbursement.) This update cannot be guaranteed if the change has been made using your own program.

The system only determines the processing characteristic in the expiry phase of a loan.

The expiry phase of a loan describes the last period in the life cycle of a loan. The period begins when the loan is fully disbursed and repaid. A loan is fully disbursed and repaid when there is no disbursement obligation and no more remaining capital for the loan, based on the posted flows.
You can choose the following values:

If you flag the field the system displays the processing characteristics for the loan selected.
If you flag this field the system updates the indefinite processing characteristics for the loan selected. An indefinite characteristic is a characteristic whose value cannot be determined directly when a loan is changed or when postings are made to a loan. This is because the information needed to determine the value for the characteristic is only available after the change has been posted. Therefore you need to update the processing characteristics at regular intervals.

In order to execute this process you need authorization for the displaying and maintenance of table contents for the activity 02: Add, Change or Delete Table Entries.
If you select the field you can initialize the processing characteristics for the loans selected. You must carry out this process if you have activated the processing characteristics in the Customizing activity Installation Parameters or if new loans have been imported into the system via the external data transfer. The processing only considers loans that do not have any processing characteristics.

In order to execute this process you need authorization for the displaying and maintenance of table contents for the activity 02: Add, Change or Delete Table Entries.
By selecting this field, you can check and if necessary update the processing characteristics for the loan selected. The report also determines the current values of the processing characteristics for the loan selected and compares the values with the corresponding values in the database.
