Displaying a New Distribution Rule for a Cost Object Hierarchy 

Prerequisites

If the Variances indicator is set in the step Create Settlement Profile in Customizing for Product Cost by Period (under Period-End Closing ® Settlement) the system automatically generates a second settlement rule for settlement of the variances to Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) on the basis of the settings in the PA transfer structure the first time settlement is performed for the object (such as a cost object node).

1. Choose Accounting ® Controlling ® Product Cost Controlling ® Cost Object Controlling ® Product Cost by Period ® Master Data ® Cost Object Hierarchy ® Edit Cost Object Hierarchy.
2. Enter the cost object node and set the Profitability segment indicator.
3. Choose Enter. This displays the settlement receiver and the distribution rule.
4. To access further information on the structure of the profitability segment, select the field next to the profitability segment and choose Enter.

The dialog box Account Assignment to Profitability Segment appears. The dialog box lists the characteristics that are grouped together as the profitability segment.

5. To check the control parameters for settlement, choose Goto ® Parameters. The screen displays the settlement structure, the settlement profile, and the PA transfer structure.
