Function documentation Generating Cover Pools Automatically Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to generate expenditure cover pools for an FM area and fiscal year automatically.

This automatic generation of cover pools is based on rules that you must create beforehand. The rules stipulate which FM account assignments should be grouped together in a cover pool and which are reciprocally eligible for cover in the payment budget.

You use this function if you do not want to create the cover pools manually and do not need any cover pools for the commitment budget.

For more information on cover pools and how to create cover pools manually, see Cover Pool and Maintain Cover Pool.

Integration

If you execute this function, the system deletes all expenditure cover pools created manually or automatically according to the selection criteria defined (for each FM area and fiscal year) before it creates the cover pools.

Once you have executed the function, you must Reconstruct Assigned Values. Only then can the active availability control take the cover eligibility relationships into account.

Prerequisites

You must fulfill the following prerequisites before you can execute the function:

·        A Budget Memo with budget memo type 11 must be created (automatic cover pool) in the Customizing of Funds Management.

·        The budget objects must be selected individually in the Budget Structure. Generic entries are not allowed for budget objects.

·        The Cover Pool Rules must be created.

Features

For more information on functions, see the documentation on program Generate Cover Pools from Rules (RFFMSC01).

Activities

To create cover pool rules automatically, choose Accounting ® Public Sector Management ® Funds Management ® Master Data ® Control  ®Cover Eligibility ® Automatic Generation of Cover Pools  ® Generate Cover Pools from Rules.

The system assigns the FM account assignments to a cover pool according to the rules defined.  The cover pool number displayed is a combination of the number from the rules from which the cover pool was generated and an ascending internal numbering. The name of the cover pool is derived from the rule. The placeholder + (plus) is not considered.
