Use

Frequently, people have specific requirements related to the determination and further processing of measured values, for example:

Measured Value

Significant Digits

Example

0<x<1

3

0,17253 ® 0,173

1£ x<10

2

1,173 ® 1,2

10£ x<

1

11,173 ® 10

Note

The rounding is achieved in this SAP solution using a BAdI method.

Prerequisites

You must make the following settings in Customizing before you can use this function in your company:

Customizing of the BAdI Parameters

You use a Customizing table to assign parameters to the BAdI methods in input processing for non-classed measured values. You can find this Customizing table under the following menu path: Quality Management ® Quality Inspection ® Results Recording ® Define Parameters for Input Processing.

Now you can define a three-character key for input processing and a language-dependent short text for this key. On the detail screen, you can define your required parameters. You can define a maximum of six parameters. You can find more details regarding each BAdI in the relevant documentation.

Note

The filter values are cross-client. This means that they are valid across the whole system.

The names of the parameters are not fixed and can be changed in the table. It is, therefore, possible to assign mnemonic names.

Default Values for Control Indicators

The indicator for input processing of non-classed measured values is taken into consideration in the control indicator default values. You can find these setting under Quality Management ® Quality Planning ® Basic Data ® Inspection Characteristic, Inspection Method ® Define Default Values for Control Indicators.

Activities

  1. You define the attributes of the BAdI parameters in the key for input processing in Customizing.
  2. You set the control indicator for input processing in the (master) inspection characteristic.
  3. You enter the key for input processing in the quantitative data of the (master) inspection characteristic
  4. As a result, during results recording, the BAdI that has been defined for the inspection characteristic is run and the input value is processed.
  5. Choose "98" as the value for the number of decimal places in the certificate profile for the characteristic. This ensures that the number of decimal places that are output on the certificate is in accordance with the input processing.
