Define SSS Benefits Salary Brackets

In this step, you set up the Social Security System (SSS) benefit salary brackets for sickness and maternity benefits.

Requirements

After you set up the SSS benefit salary brackets, you must:

1. Configure the SSS sickness and maternity absence types in the Absences section of the IMG for Personnel Time Management.
1. Valuate these absences in the Absences section of the IMG for Payroll Philippines.

Standard Settings

The standard system contains the salary brackets and salary credit amounts provided by the SSS and valid at the time of creation. These figures have been set up as default values.

If the SSS changes the salary brackets, you must ensure compliance by modifying the default values accordingly.

Recommendation

SAP recommends that you use the Absences infotype (2001) to record both SSS absence types and to pay the SSS benefits. Using the Additional Payments infotype (0015) or any other method may generate an error in the calculation of SSS benefits.

Activities

1. Check if the salary brackets set up in the system comply with the current figures issued by the SSS.
2. If you need to make changes, delimit the validity dates of the existing record and create a new record.

Further Notes

You must never modify an existing record as this may generate errors in SSS calculations.
